Our Team

Dr. Sean Peterson is a Family Medicine physician who practices Family, Emergency, and Addiction Medicine.  He holds an appointment as an Investigating Coroner with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.

CAREER SUMMARY

Prior to starting his career in medicine, Dr. Peterson earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Aerospace Engineering  He worked in the Aerospace sector with Spar Aerospace developing robotic devices for the International Space Station.  He has earned his Commercial Pilot’s License with a multi-engine instrument rating and has over 800 hours of flying experience.  Following his engineering degree, he joined McKinsey & Company where he worked as a Management Consultant for two years primarily working in performance management and merger integration within the Financial and Insurance sector.

While completing his undergraduate medical degree at the Schulich School of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario, he attended the International Space University Summer Session Program, the University of Texas Medical Branch Aerospace Medicine Course, and the NASA Johnson Space Centre Aerospace Medicine Elective.  He has since completed the University of Toronto’s Advanced Health Leadership Program through the Rotman School of Business and the Business Bridge Program through the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Since 2009, Dr. Peterson has practiced family, addiction, emergency, and critical care medicine.  He earned a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from the University of Western Ontario in 2010.  He is an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor.  He also is one of Lambton County’s Investigating Coroners.
