Dr. Sean Peterson<\/span>Shanon Swetlishnoff<\/span><\/div>

Dr. Sean Peterson is a Family Medicine physician who practices Family, Emergency, and Addiction Medicine. \u00a0He holds an appointment as an Investigating Coroner with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.<\/p>\n

CAREER SUMMARY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prior to starting his career in medicine, Dr. Peterson earned his\u00a0Bachelor of Applied Science<\/a>\u00a0in Aerospace Engineering \u00a0He\u00a0worked in the Aerospace sector with\u00a0Spar Aerospace<\/a>\u00a0developing robotic devices for the International Space Station. \u00a0He has earned his Commercial Pilot’s License with a multi-engine\u00a0instrument rating and has over 800 hours of flying experience. \u00a0Following his engineering degree, he\u00a0joined\u00a0McKinsey & Company<\/a>\u00a0where he worked as a Management Consultant for two years primarily working in performance management and merger integration\u00a0within the\u00a0Financial\u00a0and Insurance sector.<\/p>\n

While completing his undergraduate medical degree at the\u00a0Schulich School of Medicine\u00a0<\/a>at the\u00a0University of Western Ontario, he attended the\u00a0International Space University<\/a>\u00a0Summer Session Program, the\u00a0University of Texas Medical Branch<\/a>\u00a0Aerospace Medicine Course, and the\u00a0NASA Johnson Space Centre<\/a>\u00a0Aerospace Medicine Elective. \u00a0He has since completed the\u00a0University of Toronto’s\u00a0<\/a>Advanced Health Leadership Program through the Rotman School of Business and the Business Bridge Program through the\u00a0Tuck School of Business<\/a>\u00a0at Dartmouth.<\/p>\n

Since 2009, Dr. Peterson has practiced family, addiction, emergency, and critical care\u00a0medicine. \u00a0He earned a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from the University of Western Ontario in 2010. \u00a0He is an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor. \u00a0He also is one of Lambton County’s Investigating Coroners.<\/p>\n
